I believe that some people have advantages in sports do too how they were born.  Genetically some people are born taller than others.  This gives them an advantage in basketball, because they can get to the rebound or shoot over people much easier.

Gladwell’s opinion was that people who are born earlier like in January tend to be more talented or stronger in what they do.  He used the example of hockey and how if they are bigger built and stronger they will be a much better player, will get to play with higher leagues so he will get better with the competition, and he will be more mature so he will be more committed and want to practice more.

I agree with him because people who are born earlier are old for their age, so sometimes they will be stronger than the average age group he is in.  This will be an advantage for them because it would be easier for them to get around the guy and you could shoot much harder.  The chapter for sure made me rethink what I said, because it is so true that if you are stronger and more mature you will do much better in the sport you play.

He used a hockey roster with their date of birth so you could see that most of the hockey players were born in that time period.  They were very convincing because I saw that most of the hockey players were born in the month on January and that proves the point that they are good at what they do because they are older than their age group.
