Blog Post 2: Synthesis

I do dance recitals at Point Dance Academy. People do have advantages when it comes to competitive and goal-oriented activities because some can be more athletic in sports then others. Or more flexible in dance, gymnastics, etc.

Gladwell's opinion on the daily question was that teenagers who are older do better in school and in sports. I don't agree with him because age doesn't matter, someone can be 15 and do bad in school, while a 13 year old could be doing good. It depends on your study habits, if you do homework or not, what college you want to go to, and what you do to help yourself achieve goals in school. Some of the sources he used to back up his point was that hockey players who are 9 and 10, will get picked for the "rep" squad and their gonna get better coaching, their teammates are gonna be better, they'll also get to play 50 or 65 games a season instead of 20 games like the one's in the "house" league. To me, these weren't convincing sources because how can you prove that the "rep" squad is getting better coaching and has better teammates? The "home" league could be getting the same coaching and have better teammates.
