Romeo Banished?
Romeo's punishment is not fair because he was doing what the was gonna do, he was protecting himself, and was avenging his best friend. It is clear that Romeo did kill someone but he was doing it for self defense All Romeo was doing was meeting up with his friends at the beach and Tybalt then shows up declaring that Romeo and him fight but Romeo was doing what the Prince told him not to do. After Tybalt kills Mercutio and comes back to finish Romeo then defend himself while avenging his dead friend. Thus Romeo Was doing what the law would according to Lord Montague he then states "Prince, he was Mercutio's friend. His fault concludes but what the law would end, the life of Tybalt." (Act III Scene I Lines 180-183) Arguably I do think that Romeo should not have been punished for what he did to Tybalt.
