Romeo's Consequence was Fair

Romeo's punishment was fair because being banished from Verona is better than being killed. Him getting banished is a good thing because then him and Juliet can go their separate ways and realize that they really weren't in love from the beginning. "Not Romeo, Prince. He was Mercutio's friend. He only did what the law would have done: took the life of Tybalt." (Act 3, Scene 1, Line 180)

Romeo Banished?

Romeo's punishment is not fair because he was doing what the was gonna do, he was protecting himself, and was avenging his best friend. It is clear that Romeo did kill someone but he was doing it for self defense All Romeo was doing was meeting up with his friends at the beach and Tybalt then shows up declaring that Romeo and him fight but Romeo was doing what the Prince told him not to do. After Tybalt kills Mercutio and comes back to finish Romeo then defend himself while avenging his dead friend. Thus Romeo Was doing what the law would according to Lord Montague he then states "Prince, he was Mercutio's friend. His fault concludes but what the law would end, the life of Tybalt." (Act III Scene I Lines 180-183) Arguably I do think that Romeo should not have been punished for what he did to Tybalt.
I think that Romeo's punishment is unfair because he had the right to kill Tybalt because Tybalt had no right to kill Mercutio. Clearly, he forgot that he wasn't supposed to kill anybody but he did the right thing. When Romeo killed Tybalt he wasn't supposed to do so,but since Tybalt killed Mercutio he deserved to die. Therefore, Romeo did the right thing so shouldn't he be rewarded? This punishment is unfair since Romeo did what he thought was right and he should be rewarded not banished. To continue, why should Romeo have to leave. "What is banished?" (act 3, Scene 1). The quote tells that Romeo is upset and he thinks that he did the right thing. Why should he have to leave? In conclusion, I think that Romeo's punishment should have been less harsh because he did the right thing.

Does romeo deserve the pleasure to live.

I believe that romeos punishment is not fair because two wrongs don't make a right.  Romeo should controlled himself and let life play its self out and for Tybalt got his punishment by the prince. Tybalt got his punishment by the death of Romeo so Romeo should get his. "Romeo's hand did slay" Act three scene 1 line 150. These are some of the few reasons why Romeo should not get the privilege to live.

Romeo Innocent or Guilty?

Romeos punishment is not fair because Tyblit killed merqutio so he acted out of anger. “These violent delights have violent ends.” I think when the prince banished Romeo  he should of known that Romeo only killed Tyblit because he killed merqutio which is the princes kinsmen. Tyblit was also asking to be killed when he returned after he ran away.

Romeos Punishment Yay or Nay

Romeo's Punishment is not a good enough excuse because he acted out of anger because his best friend was killed. Tybalt killed Mercutio first when they brawled on the beach. "Not Romeo, Prince, he was Mercutio's best friend. his fault concludes buts what the law should end, the life of Tybalt."(Act iii, Scene 1, Pg 144). Romeo felt responsible because Tybalt killed Mercutio while Romeo made Mercutio venerable. Therefor he felt he was at fault for Mercutios death. Tybalt was begging for death by coming back to the beach. consequentially Tybalt was slain by romeo because he didn't lay low and stay away from romeo and his anger. Nevertheless that is why romeo's Punishment is not justified

Romeo, Your Punishment Is Fair

The punishment of Romeo is truly fair because he doesn't have to deal with family feuds, the lovers can be together, and it's bound to happen. The banishment of Romeo allows Romeo to be away from the feud. Friar Lawrence states, "Be patient, for the world is broad and wide"(III, iii, 17). Thus proving that there's more to the world than what lies before him. Being banished gives him opportunity to see how other people live. On the other hand, Juliet and Romeo can be together. They won't have to sneak around, and risk their lives. Lastly, it's bound to happen. When either of the families find out that they love each other, then it will start a brawl. Whenever a brawl happens, the Prince is then dragged into it. The Prince will then either sentence them to death or banishment. Therefore, a banishment for Romeo is a fair punishment.

Romeo being banished, yes or no?

Personally, I don't agree with Romeo's punishment. Being banished for killing Tybalt was wrong, yes. However, Juliet's family has killed some of his before and vise versa. Why banish him if Juliet's family has done the same thing to his? It isn't fair. Although Romeo killed Tybalt, he doesn't deserve to be banished. If anything, he deserves a punishment of some sort, but nothing like what they're trying to do to him.

Was the banishment of Romeo fair or unfair?

Was the banishment of Rome fair or unfair?

I believe that Romeo's punishment was fair, because instead of death he got banishment from the city. Being banished, he can still see Juliet. If he was dead, there would be no way for him to see Juliet. Romeo was only banished because he killed Tybalt, who murdered Mercutio after trying to pick a fight with Romeo. Mercutio was simply standing up for Romeo, because he didn't believe in fighting. After killing Tybalt, Romeo realized that he had done what Tybalt had wanted all along. "O,I am fortune's fool"-Shakespeare,ACT III SCENE 1 LINE 132.Therefore, Romeos actions have proven to be fair. Juliet and Romeo may or may not see each other, thus proving that it is  the ultimate punishment, never being able to see his lover ever again.

Romeo's Punishment: Fair or Unfair?

                                        Romeo's Punishment: Fair or Unfair?

Throughout all of the fights and brawls of the Capulet's and Montegue's, one would change both familie's lives. Tybalt was urging Romeo and Mercutio to fight, so they did, resulting in Tybalt and Mercutio dieing. As the Prince arrived to the horrid scene, citizens warned Romeo to run. The Capulet's ordered that Romeo should be killed, but the Prince didn't agree. The Prince banished Romeo from Verona, leaving his mark on the Capulet family. Romeo's punishment is fair because there had been many fights throughout the two families, and if he was ordered to die, then the fighting would probably continue and only get worse. Even though Romeo killed Tybalt, Tybalt still killed Mercutio. Therefore, Romeo's punishment is fair because of what had happened. "Boy, this shall not excuse the injuries that thou hast done me, therefore turn and draw."-Shakespeare-ACT III, Scene 1, Line 61. From Tybalt to Mercutio's death, Romeo's punishment was overall fair because of what happened in the brawl.

the Unfairness of Romeoand Juilet.

The Unfairness of Romeo and Juliet.

The Prince Romeo’s punishment was not fair. Romeo and Tybalt both dishonored the Prince’s wishes to not fight not kill. However Tybalt fought Mercutio and killed him. Leading Romeo to get mad killing Tybalt. The Prince’s threat said he will kill anyone who fought and disturbed peace. Romeo’s father Montague chanted “you are lucky not to be dead”.  Romeo’s banishment led him to be miserable because he couldn’t see Juliet any more as it wasn’t dangerous as is. If the table are turned and the prince had to punish the Capulets he would’ve killed the guilty as a punishment. Therefore, Romeo’s punishment that the Prince gave him was not fair in any way.
