Romeo is different in perspectives of others Devin Gao

Romeo is a love struck man who loves anyone that comes in his way. I feel like Romeo is struck with a cupid’s arrow all the time to be able to love anyone that comes up in his path. Romeo also doesn’t let anything get in his way as he finds ways to get past them. Romeo is first in love with Rosaline, which was depressed when he wasn’t able to see her. Soon after, Romeo saw Juliet at the Capulet party and has fallen in love with her. “O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright. It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night as a rich jewel in an Ethiop’s ear – Beauty too rich for use, for earth too dear. So shows a snowy dove trooping with crows as yonder lady o’er her fellows shows. The measure done, I’ll watch her place of stand, and touching hers, make blessed my rude hand. Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, slight. For I ne’er saw true beauty till this night” (Shakespeare Act one Scene five). Quoted from Shakespeare he shows Romeo having love at first sight when he saw Juliet. Romeo can’t be stopped by love quoted by himself “With love’s light wings did I o’erperch these walls, for stony limits cannot hold love out, and what love can do, that dares love attempt: Therefore thy kinsmen are no stop to me” (Shakespeare Act two Scene two). I can tell that Romeo is a depressed lover who just wants someone who loves him back. I think he is just looking for love. I like his personality where he is not afraid of anything and will do anything for Juliet’s love. He climbed a stone wall just to see Juliet at her balcony. I do not identify with him at all. He is not shy and afraid and I would not relate to him otherwise.
