like me or not like me that is the question.

I have alot of friends but im really only similar to two of them.
my other friends and i are we love each other but we are really nothing alike. Im the craziest one out of the 3 of us. I think its better to have friends that are not the same as you because then you can build your friendship by teaching them other things. My friend Maddison loves the red hot chili peppers but i dont and she let me listen to a few of their songs and now i think they are pretty cool.

Identical Friends

I am similar to my friends, because of our sense of humor, how talkative we are, and our activities out side of school.  For example, with one of my friends we can go golfing and have we always have a fun time, because we both like what were doing and are very talkative.  I think it is better to have friends that are similar to you because most of the time you won't be bored, instead you will be having a good time.  Also, with another one of my friends, we both like to play soccer.  So, when we hang out with will come to CT and play a 1v1.  If we didn't have anything in common, most likely we would just be watching the T.V super bored.  Clearly, having friends that are similar to you and share similar activities as you do, I believe you will have a more enjoyable time.
What leads to the cause of people giving up on their dreams??

Typically, most people fail to accomplish their dreams. Not because they can't, but because they choose not to. Anybody could do anything they wanted if they were to set their mind to it. Usually people don't reach their dreams because they failed. Though, they don't realize failing is just a step closer to where they want to be. If they give up because they fail, it wont help them get where they need to be. On top of that, stress could be a huge factor as to why certain people haven't reached their dreams. Other than the stress and failure, the lack of motivation is also a main reason people don't succeed, or maybe it's because they have no desire to succeed. For example, if you have no motivation to accomplish what you want to do, how are you going to do it? You're not. These are a few of many reasons people don't follow their dreams,or even reach them for that matter.

Homies

I am very similar to my friends In many ways. For instance, Jacob, we became friends at a football game. Not only because we both love footbal but because Jacob made the best first inpression. He made me laugh like no other and and thats the best first inpression someone could make for me. I think in order to have a good relationship with someone you guys have to be similar, if you both like football, you can spend quality time at football games. If you like diffrent things, it will be hard to find things to do together.

Rowdy a bully?

Sure Rowdy might be aggressive and angry but its not really his fault for being that way, living with a drunken abusive father he has to let his anger out some way and its just his way of letting out his feelings. A kid who gets beaten up in the class by him would probably think hes a bully but he also has a best friend, Junior. He protects Junior and if anyone tries to beat him up he protects him. So hes not completely a bully, he protects the one who's there for him and is nice to him and reads comics with. Seems that if just as long as your nice to him he'll be nice to you.

The Similarities and Differences Between Junior and Rowdy

There are many similarities and differences between Junior and Rowdy, but I think that the differences outweigh the similarities. One similarity is that they both deal with racism and problems like that on the reservation almost every day. On the other hand, Rowdy is very tough and strong, but Junior is basically the opposite, weak. Junior and Rowdy's parents are both drunks, however Rowdy's parents, specifically his dad, beats him when he is drunk. Rowdy's life is also very hard, besides the poverty that Junior and the rest of the reservation face, he gets made fun of, and since he gets made fun of he bullies people, he fights people a lot, and he is less intelligent, so he really only has Junior and his strength. This is why he gets so angry and punches Junior in the face when he tells him that  he is leaving the reservation." I was the kind of idiot that got punched hard in the face by his best friend." That shows that Rowdy was really angry, to go to the length of punching his best friend in the face.

DIFFERENT BEST FRIENDS BRINGS THE NEW YOU

Are you similar or different to your friends? do you think it’s better to have friends that are like you or different than you? Explain using specific examples.

DIFFERENT BEST FRIENDS BRINGS THE NEW YOU

I think it is best to have friends that are different from you you and your friend  bring the opposite in your-self. For example, if you are a shy girl and you have a best friend who is loud that would be the best pair because they bring the opposite out of each other. however, to ruin a good relationship if their is no excitement /adventure. In TRUE DIARY OF A PART TIME INDIAN Rowdy and Junior are best friend, junior is the person that every one picks on and rowdy is the person that bullies everyone. they are a good match of best-friends because rowdy gives Junior confident toward others.

True friends are better friends

Question 4:
Are you similar to you friends or different from them? Do you think it's better to have friends that are like you or different from you? Explain, using specific examples.
Answer:
I am in the middle because some of my friends are a little nerdy and they like some things that I do not like. I think it is better to have friends that are like you because than you have things to talk about. Having friends that are a like you is very good because you have more things in common. Some examples are, I have a friend that is nothing like me, she likes this band (i don't know the name of the band), she is all smart and nerdy, she is very artistic and she is also very independent. I also have an other friend that is just like me, she is very short, nice, sweet, gets good grades, we wear almost the same clothes, and she plays the same games as me.
Are You Similar or Different From You Friend
                                     by Derek Phillips

Me and my friend are different and I think its better to be different because you have things to talk about and argue about for instance this one time me and my friend were arguing about music and then we ended up listening to each others music and ended up liking it and it could also be good if you have something similar with your friend because you have things to talk about

Chapter 3 question 4

When i choose A friend I try to pick a friend that is very similar to myself. Its better that way due to the fact that you have many things in common. Including sports,T.V, and people. Having many things in common make it easier to make plans because you must likely have the same friends. When you watch TV its easier because you both like the same things. For example, i base my friends off if we have the same things in common because we have things in common make it easier to talk and become good friends. This is why i think its good to have friends that are the same as you.

ARE YOU YOUR FRIEND

I am similar to my friends in certain ways. There are differences between us as well. I believe that having a friend just like you could be a bad thing. Then your friend and you would never have anything to disagree about. Plus sooner or later your friend and you will get tired of each other.   When having a friend that is different than you they are able to bring out a different side of you. You guys would be able to experience new things. This way you guys wont ever run out of things to do with each other. And you know you will have a friend for life.

Ch. 5, #2

Junior's sister, Mary gave up on her dream of being an author of a romance novel. I think that Mary gave up on her dream of being an author because she thought that it was easier than trying to actually achieve her dream. And since she wanted to be an author of a romance novel it was more difficult for her to be confident with her dream  because people would make fun of her for writing romance novels. I also think that she gave up on her dream because everyone else in the reservation already had and i guess the giving up factor rubbed off on Mary as well. And maybe Mary was just lazy and didn't even try to make her dream come true.

Chapter 8 #1

Junior experiences a difficult time in his life which is choosing to move to a new school which is 22 miles away from his home. He is leaving his home behind, the Indians on the reservation, and his best friend Rowdy. I also had experienced the same as Junior because I had to move states and schools. I used to go to school in Texas but my dad got a new job in Colorado so I had to leave everyone I knew behind. Though moving states at a young age wasn't as difficult, the hardest being in Colorado, where I had to go to a new middle school. When I moved middle schools, I left all my elementary friends behind and once I got in, I didn't know anybody at Fox Ridge. I decided to do this because it was the closest school to my house so it would be the most beneficial. It was hard to make friends in middle school since everyone else knew each other from their old elementary schools. Despite these hardships, I overcame this dilemma.

Junior's romantic sister!

In chapter five of Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian Junior is told of his sister Mary's dream to write romantic novels. His teacher told him that she was a very bright student and was always caught scribbling her stories into her notebook. He also told him that she was always reading a romantic novel so that she could understand how to write one of those types of stories. But sadly for some strange reason the dream started to fade. It kept on fading and fading as she moved through school until finally the dream was gone. This can happen to lots of people and their dreams. They start off with a dream that seems pretty realistic and reasonable, but then as time goes on the dream fades because they start to realize that the dream might be to difficult and impossible to reach. So I feel the message here is tho never give up on your dreams no matter the difficulty level. You should believe that your dreams can become a reality, as long as they are reasonable and within your reach.

ROWDY AND HIS REACTION TO REARDEN

Rowdy and Junior have been friends for a long time, but as Junior makes a decision to change from a poor school to a small rich school, Rowdy doesn't agree with Junior's decision at all.  Rowdy and Junior have been through a lot together, from Rowdy reading comics and Junior making comics. Throughout the book, their relationships grew better and better. But then Junior realizes that the school that he is going is not helping him. He knows about this rich school, Rearden, and decides that Rearden is where he should be for a challenge and to help him throughout life. He finally make his decision and tells Rowdy. Rowdy did not like the decision. He screamed and punched Junior. Rowdy probably acted this way because they had such a close relationship and considering that Rowdy's Dad is always drunk and beating him and his mother, Junior seems to be the only one that Rowdy can talk to. Rowdy has been through a lot and with his best friend leaving, he probably isn't to please. So, even though Rowdy and Junior might not be best friends anymore, they'll probably always be friends in their own way.

I think that I'm similar to my friends in many different ways. I also think that its better to have friends that are like you. The first reason i believe this is because if you have a friend who likes hockey, and you have a friend who likes soccer and they both hate each others activity and or hobby they probably would not be good friends. I also think that having friends who do not have the same interests is good. The reason I believe this is because since both like different things they can affect each other to like each others activity

Junior's Sisters Situation

Chapter 5 Question 2

Juniors sister Mary was a very good student according to Mr.P when he was talking to Juniors porch. Mr.P told junior that his sister was a good novel writer in the genre of romantic novels. she was shy about showing people her work but as she wrote more and more she opened up to more people and she let them read her stories. she gave up on her stories and stayed at the Rez,some factors were her parents could have done something better but they stayed at the rez along with mary. Mary changed paths and didn't decide to leave the Rez and become a writer for romance novels. Mr.p doesn't junior to not follow his dreams like his sister.

Dedication Is Key

Junior's sister, Mary, wanted to write romance novels. She would always just wonder off in class, and write ideas in her notebook. His sister didn't tell anyone about her dream. Then all of the sudden she gave up. Mary didn't proceed with her dream. She just stopped. One factor that cause people to give up on their dreams is money. Sometimes people don't have enough money to get an education in order to achieve dreams. Another factor is family. Some families just shoot down someone's dreams, and make them lose hope. In the end, in order to achieve a dream, you must have dedication.
